As part of our Education Empowerment for Sustainable Communities (EESC) initiative, the Michael Kunke Foundation is dedicated to making sure every child has access to quality education in a way that lasts and truly makes a difference. We believe that learning should be both accessible and meaningful, and one of the ways we achieve this is by providing students with essential materials to support their studies.
In line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4)—which focuses on quality education for all—we recently donated 200 exercise books, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and rulers to the Class 1 and 2 pupils of Bronyibima M/A Basic School in Elmina. This generous contribution was made possible thanks to Felicia Brow-Smith, a visitor to Ghana who traveled with Freelancenana Travels, one of our valued partners.
One of the key things we do through our partnership with Freelancenana Travels is create opportunities for visitors to give back to the communities they explore. Whether it’s through volunteering for a day or supporting a long-term project, these experiences allow travelers to connect meaningfully with local people while making a real impact. Many of them even return to continue their support after witnessing firsthand how small contributions can change lives.
At the donation event, Madam Eva Lawal, headmistress of Bronyibima M/A Basic School, expressed heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the students. She emphasised how these materials will go a long way in improving the learning environment. Michael Kunke, Founder of the Michael Kunke Foundation, reassured the school that the organisation is committed to continuously supporting education within the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem (KEEA) Municipality. He highlighted that providing learning resources is just one of the ways the Foundation is working to enhance education for young learners.
Through EESC and other initiatives, we remain focused on fostering education that is accessible, high-quality, and sustainable. We believe that when children have the right tools to learn, they are better equipped to chase their dreams, overcome challenges, and shape a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
