Elmina Innovation & Research Centre and Be The Code have come together to organize a three-day STEM-oriented program in Coding and Robotics for students in Elmina. This program is being organized in collaboration with the Michael Kunke Foundation and is set to run from April 3 to April 5, 2023, at the Elmina Innovation & Research Centre.
The beneficiaries of this program are 40 students from 9 schools in Elmina. The aim of this program is to help the growth of STEM education in the region, and it is the first of many such programs that will be put together by the organizers.
The program will cover a wide range of topics related to Coding and Robotics. Students will be introduced to programming languages like Python, JavaScript, and Scratch. They will also be introduced to robotics and will learn how to build and program robots using Lego Mindstorms and Arduino kits.
The program will be led by experienced instructors who have extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of Coding and Robotics. They will provide hands-on training and guidance to the students, ensuring that they are able to grasp the concepts being taught.
In addition to the training, students will have the opportunity to engage in team-building exercises, where they will learn how to work effectively in teams. They will also have the chance to participate in a coding and robotics competition, where they will showcase the skills they have learned during the program.
The program is sponsored by Lemon Beach Resort, Ghana STEM Network, Nana Kweku Amissah I, with support from ESPORTS Association Ghana, and Digital Foundation Africa. These organizations have come together to support this initiative and make it possible for students in Elmina to have access to quality STEM education.
STEM education is vital for the growth and development of any country, and initiatives like this are essential in ensuring that students have access to the resources and training they need to excel in these fields. We hope that this program will be a stepping stone for many students in Elmina to pursue careers in STEM and make significant contributions to the development of their communities and the nation as a whole.
In conclusion, the three-day STEM-oriented program in Coding and Robotics organized by Elmina Innovation & Research Centre and Be The Code in collaboration with the Michael Kunke Foundation is an excellent opportunity for students in Elmina to gain valuable knowledge and skills in the fields of Coding and Robotics. We commend the sponsors of this initiative for their support and encourage other organizations to follow suit and support STEM education initiatives in their communities.
